Resumen

We all believe that we know the meaning of nearness and distance. They are spatial conceptions which at first appear absolute, but then can easily be proved relative. Near to me is the pen with which I write and the book which I read. Distant from me is the opposite wall of my room, but this becomes near n relation to the sea shore which J can reach by a short walk. All South América towns are relatively close to Lima in comparison with Australia, everything on earth is close to us as compared with the sun, and this again in relation to Sirius etc.
